BARBADOS:
C
OLOR
FUL  CARIBBEAN

Some shots from Bridgeport, S'Town, and Holetown.

We were staying with Conny Andersson, a super-chef of Beverly Wilshire fame,
in his new home at Sandy Lane, the luxury hotel where he's now in charge of
four restaurants and several bars.

Here is Conny and Claire Clark (who just arrived from the French Laundry)
preparing for a celebration of the food of the West Indies.

Back on Holetown beach

Barbado's yellow buses are a kick.
As you bump along at break-neck speed, you're treated to ear-shattering Caribbean music.

One afternoon, Claire took us to the east side of the island,
as well as to St. Nicholas Abbey, a Jacobean mansion,
for a taste of the local rum.

And, once again, to Bridgetown, S'town, and Holetown.
